• The 44th President of the US was born off a Kenyan father and a mother from Kansas in Hawaii in 1961.
• With an education on study loans and scholarships, President Barack Obama was the average Neo-American student. He moved to Chicago, where he worked with local churches to help the families that were affected by the closure of steel mines in the nearby areas.
• After becoming the first Afro-American President of the Harvard Law Review, President Barack Obama went on to teach law at the University of Chicago.
• President Barack Obama was instrumental in introducing many changes to the ethic reforms while serving the senate in Illinois. He also helped pass a bill wherein drastic tax cuts were introduced for working parents.

President George W Bush

• President George W Bush was sworn in as the President of the US in 2001 and was re-elected in 2004.
• His service as the Governor of Texas for six years, prior to being elected as the President of America were marked by unparalleled service based on conservative principles and strong family presence.
• Born in 1946 in Connecticut, President George Bush, like most US presidents, was a Yale graduate in history.
• President George Bush was an F-102 fighter pilot and served the Texas Air National Guard. He also received an MBA degree from the Harvard in 1975.
• President George Bush was sworn in as the Governor of Texas in 1994 and became the only man in the history to be reelected as the Governor when he assumed the office of the Governor of Texas in 1998.
• Marred by the September 11 attacks, President George Bush’s tenure was an eventful one.
• He took stringent measures to curb terrorist activities on American soil and also went a long way in recognizing the efforts and sacrifices of those who served in the post attack era. He also showed special compassion to those who had lost their lives in the most devastating attacks on the US.

President William J Clinton

• President William J Clinton was the 42th president of The United States
• Popularly known as President Bill Clinton, President William Jefferson Clinton gave America the most prosperous period ever.
• During his tenure, the unemployment and inflation were at their lowest in the past 30 years, crime rates had reduced at most places and he had registered the lowest welfare roles in decades- in true sense, President Bill Clinton can safely assumed to be one of the most progressive American Presidents of all time.
• President Bill Clinton enjoyed immense popularity and after Franklin Roosevelt, he was the only democrat to have won a second consecutive term.
• Some of the most important points of his agenda were to limit handgun sales, upgrade the educational standards and to enforce more stringent environmental rules.
• Born in Arkansas in 1946, President Bill Clinton was an excellent all round student. He was a professional saxophone player and at one point in time, he was considering it as a serious career option.
• It was after he got his law degree from the Yale, that he decided to get into politics.
• Al Gore, his running mate and President Bill Clinton represented the new blood politicians of America.

President George H W Bush

• President George H W Bush was the 41th president of The United States
• A staunch follower of traditional American values, President George H W Bush asserted that America needed to be a more compassionate nation towards the developing nations of the world in order to bolster its international presence.
• Aiming to use American values as the “Force for Good”, President George H W Bush stormed into the office in 1989.
• President George Herbert Walker Bush was born in 1924 in Massachusetts and registered himself in the army at the age of 18.
• He was the youngest pilot in the armed forces when he was commissioned and is accredited to having flown 58 combat planes during WW II.
• President George H W Bush was awarded the Flying Cross for outstanding bravery in the battle field.
• In 1945, after the war, President George Bush married Barbara Pierce and also focussed on completing his studies.
• He enrolled at the Yale University, where he was the captain of the baseball team and after graduating, he joined the oil industry in West Texas.
• After working as a senator from Connecticut, he was the nominated as the republican candidate in 1980.

President Ronald Reagan

• President Ronald Reagan was the 40th president of The United States
• The Reagan Revolution that lasted for almost a decade, can be safely termed as one of the most productive and intellectually stimulating periods of American history.
• His programs aimed at reducing the interdependence between the people and the government. These programs has reinstated the confidence that the American people had lost in themselves.
• Born in Illinois in February 1911, President Ronald Reagan graduated from the Eureka college. Apart from being a confident student of Economics and Sociology, he was an all round performer. President Ronald Reagan was in the College football team and was also a part of the college dramatics society.
• President Ronald Reagan started out as a Radio announcer and a screen test in ’37 had also earned him a Hollywood contract.
• From ’37 onwards, for the next 20 years, President Ronald Reagan was featured in more than 50 films.
• In 1966, he was selected the Governor of California.
• In 1980, he was nominated as the republican presidential candidate.
• It was because of people’s discontentment over rising inflation and Iran woes, that President Ronald Reagan forced his way into the office. The people just wanted to throw the ruling democrats out of the office and hence, Reagan, out of a well crafted Republican agenda, assumed office in 1981.

President James Carter

• President James Carter was the 39th president of The United States
• President James Carter, better known as President Jimmy Carter, wanted to bring competency in the office. He had great compassion towards the poor and he aspired to meet their expectations even in the era of rising inflation and energy costs and dipping productivity.
• Born in a family of peanut farmers in Georgia in the year 1924, President James Carter was a devout baptist and most of his idle time went into long hours discussing and assessing the political situation of his country.
• He had graduated from the Naval academy and immediately after completing his graduation, he married Rosallyn Smith.
• Nominated on the first ballot during the Democratic meeting in ’74, Carter’s two-year long campaign had gained momentum with time.
• As promised by him during his campaigns, President James Carter had definitely worked hard to curtail the ongoing inflation crisis and had also generated about 8 million jobs during his tenure of four years from 1977 to 1981.
• He had also worked in the field of energy conservation and was instrumental in forming the National energy policy and also pushed for decontrolling petrol prices to boost domestic production.

President Gerald R Ford

• President Gerald R Ford was the 38th president of The United States
• While swearing in, President Gerald Ford had announced that he had been given the responsibility of the office during highly unprecedented and never-before-experienced times.
• He was the first president to have succeeded the first American President to have ever resigned in the history. Adding to this, the aftermath of the Watergate Scandal, he had tough times and an angry public to manage.
• Managing the inflation, tackling the issue of world peace and saving an ever grappling economy were some of the tasks that President Gerald R Ford was confronted white as soon as he had assumed office in 1977.
• Having born in Nebraska in 1913, President Gerald R Ford had been raised in Michigan for the most part of his life.
• He was the captain of the University Of Michigan Sports team. From there on, he went to the Yale, where he not only completed his law degree, but also coached the football team.
• President Gerald R Ford had done good work in suppressing the controversy of Watergate, which had earned him a nomination for the elections of ’76, but lost to the ever popular James Carter.

President Richard Nixon

• President Richard M Nixon was the 37th president of The United States
• Restoration of normalcy and peace at home and internationally were on the top of President Richard Nixon’s agenda of change. He had ushered in a new era to a nation divided like never before.
• President Richard Nixon was instrumental in ending the American war in Vietnam and had also worked to improve America’s relations with China and the USSR.
• His election as the President was an aberration on more than one counts- first he had reemerged after being defeated in 1960 as a presidential nominee and then in 1962 as the Governor of California.
• President Richard Nixon had been a brilliant student all through his academic life- first at the Whittier College and then at Duke University Law School.
• He was a major worker in President Dwight Eisenhower’s Cabinet. Looking at the tremendous work done by him, he was nominated in 1960, but lost to President John F Kennedy by a small margin.
• He is accredited to have reformed many laws. His revenue policies, ending of the draft and his out of the box environmental programs have been the highlights of his tenure as the President.
• His tenure is also marred by the infamous Watergate Scandal.

President Lyndon Johnson

• President Lyndon Johnson was the 36th president of The United States
• With the vision of providing the American commoners with a “Great society”, President Lyndon Johnson assumed power in 1963.

• Having grown up amidst acute poverty, he had compassion for the poor, especially the farmers. He had also helped in imparting knowledge and teaching students who were from a Mexican descent.
• After having served the navy as a lieutenant commander during WWII, he won a silver star in the Pacific.
• He was the youngest leader of the minority in senate history, when he was elected to the house in 1953.
• It was in the campaign of 1960, when President Lyndon Johnson, running as President John F Kennedy’s running mate, was sworn in as the vice president. Right after his assassination, President Lyndon Johnson was sworn in as the President of America.

President John F Kennedy

• President John F Kennedy was the 35th president of The United States
• Being the youngest elected President, and the youngest to be assassinated only two years after assuming office, President John F Kennedy has been one of the finest American presidents ever to have taken the oath.
• A Harvard Graduate, President John F Kennedy was a part of the navy. After the war, he is said to have joined the democrats in 1953. He was also escalated to the senate from Boston area.
• A prolific writer, he had penned down the book Profiles in Courage, which had fetched him a Pulitzer’s Prize in history.
• His subtle and catchy debates with his opponent from the republican party, Richard Nixon, were immensely popular and the nation watched with dropped jaws when both these voracious orators got face to face on the television.
• Being of an Irish descent, President John F Kennedy became the first Roman Catholic President of America in the history by defeating his rival with a small margin in 1960. He assumed office in 1961.
• “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country”, coined by President John F Kennedy, is one of the most memorable political clichés of all time.
