• President Chester Alan Arthur was the 21th president of The United States
• Born in 1829, in Fairfield, son of a baptism lecturer. He studied Law from Union College and t hen practiced it for many years in London.
• During the Civil War, President Chester Alan Arthur became the quartermaster General of New York State.
• Under President Ulysses S. Grant, he also served as the collector.
• He looked attractive, noble, leading, just the way a president should come across. He seemed like a true President. President Chester Arthur was an honest man.
• President Rutherford Hayes expelled him out in 1871. But he got nominated for the post of Vice President 1880. As a Vice President, he supported Conkling against President James Garfield.
• President Chester Alan Arthur became the President in 1881.
• President Chester Alan Arthur also signed the Tariff Act in 1883. He tried to lower the tariff rates to cut down on superfluous annual returns.
• President Chester Alan Arthur also enforced the Genera Federation Immigration Law. He was a successful President. He introduced many reforms in government offices.
• He succumbed to a lethal kidney syndrome in 1886.

    President Chester Alan Arthur was good. However, not excellent. I don’t remember him from my classes to have done lots of things. Someone prove me wrong.

    The best thing President Chester Alana Arthur did was to lower the tariff rates. Lots of people liked him because of that. I think he was a good president.
